Oppo F7 has been launched in India as the most affordable smartphone with a notch, just days after the Vivo V9 was unveiled in the country featuring a similar design. Of course, both Oppo F7 and Vivo V9 also have several other features in common, including a bezel-less design that strikingly resembles iPhone X, Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box (with their respective custom OSes), and full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixel) resolution displays with 19:9 aspect ratio, among others. While the Oppo F7 trumps the Vivo V9 in pricing by a very small margin, there are features that both models offer that make them among the most competitive handsets in the sub-Rs. 25,000 segment. We take a look at the prices, specifications, and features of the two smartphones.

Oppo F7, Vivo V9 price in India

 

Oppo F7 price in India has been set at Rs. 21,990 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant, and will be available starting April 9. Two special edition variants of the phone – Oppo F7 Diamond Black and Oppo F7 Sunrise Red with 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage – have been launched at a price of Rs. 26,990 each. The limited edition variants will be available only at select Oppo stores. Talking about launch offers, 10,000 units of the Oppo F7 will be up for grabs at 777 Oppo offline stores and Flipkart in a 24-hour flash sale wherein buyers will be entitled to 5 percent cashback on purchases through ICICI credit cards. Customers can also avail a one-time free screen replacement, 120GB data from Jio, and up to 1,200 cashback in 12 months.

 

On the other hand, Vivo V9 price in India is Rs. 22,990 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant, which is the only one launched in the country. Pre-orders have already gone live on Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm, and Vivo’s own E-store. Vivo is also running launch offers wherein customers placing pre-orders before April 2 will be entitled to one free screen replacement warranty, an additional discount of Rs. 2,000, alongside no-cost EMIs. Further, customers can avail a cashback of Rs. 2,299 on Paytm by using promo code ‘VIVOV9’, and 5 percent Amazon Pay balance is eligible for on purchases through Amazon.in. Buyers are also entitled to BookMyShow movie vouchers from Amazon and Vivo E-store. The smartphone will be available starting April 2 across online and offline partners.

The Oppo F7 is a dual-SIM handset that runs ColorOS 5.0 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. The phone features a 6.23-inch full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) Full Screen 2.0 display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and 16 million colours. It is fuelled by a 64-bit octa-core SoC, paired with 4GB RAM (6GB RAM in special edition variants) and 64GB inbuilt storage expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB).

The F7 handset bears a 16-megapixel rear camera features including f/1.8 aperture and AI scene recognition. The selfie camera has a 25-megapixel CMOS sensor with f/2.0 aperture and real-time HDR capabilities. There is a 3400mAh battery under the hood.

 

 

 

 

In terms of connectivity, the Oppo F7 gets Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 4G VoLTE, USB OTG, and GPS/ A-GPS. Sensors include ambient light sensor, accelerometer, fingerprint sensor, and proximity sensor.

The dual-SIM Vivo V9 runs FunTouch OS 4.0 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. It sports a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) IPS ‘FullView Display 2.0’ panel with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 SoC, paired with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage. Storage is expandable via dedicated microSD card (up to 256GB).

 

In terms of camera optics, the Vivo V9 has a dual rear camera setup that gets a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor, which have f/2.0 and f/2.4 aperture lenses respectively. On the front is a 24-megapixel selfie camera with features such as f/2.0 aperture, Face Beauty app, an Ultra-HDR mode, and Portrait Lighting capabilities. There is a 3260mAh battery powering the internals from under the hood.

 

 

Connectivity options on the Vivo V9 include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a Micro-USB port, and Bluetooth 4.2. Sensors onboard the phone include ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and an accelerometer.

While you’ve met the supercharged Ninja H2 and its absolutely mad sibling the Ninja H2R, it’s now time to meet the more tamed sibling. The Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX is the touring friendly version based on the H2 and as been designed for real-world applications instead of outright performance. The 998 cc in-line four-cylinder supercharged engine produces 199 bhp, but has been revised for stronger output in low and mid-range, while the fuel efficiency has improved too. Kawasaki has also managed to make the Ninja H2 SX friendlier for long distance riding and manageable at low speeds. While a a launch date is not in sight, the bike will arrive in 2018 as a CBU with a price tag north of â‚č 30 lakh (ex-showroom).

 

3. Ducati Panigale V4

It’s been a long wait for this one but Ducati’s mighty four-cylinder offering is finally here and will make it to India sometime next year. The Ducati Panigale V4 is the company’s first ever four-cylinder and replicates the technology from its MotoGP bike on the road going offering. Power comes from the 1103 cc 90-degrees, V-Twin engine that makes 211 bhp at 13,000 rpm and peak torque of 124 Nm at 10,000 rpm. Power can be further boosted to 220 bhp, while weighing just 195 kg. Ducati says the Panigale V4 is its most advanced bike to be developed and is loaded with multitude of electronics to keep it sober on tarmac. The Italian bike is offering the V4 in three trims and we expect all versions to make it to India, including the V4 Speciale that has production limited to only 1500 units.

 

4. Benelli Leoncino

Unveiled at EICMA in 2015, the Benelli Leoncino will be finally making its way to India next year. The scrambler style motorcycle has been in the pipeline for a while now and will finally arrive in its road-ready avatar. The Leoncino is a good looking motorcycle and will be quite affordable too compared to other and more premium Scrambler offerings on sale. The bike uses an all-new Trellis frame while power comes from a 500 cc twin-cylinder engine that produces 47 bhp and 45 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The Leoncino uses long travel USD forks up front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking performance includes dual front discs and a single disc at the rear with ABS as standard. The Benelli Leoncino is being positioned as a lifestyle motorcycle and prices are expected to start around â‚č 6 lakh (ex-showroom).

#1: Brushing Tangled Locks From Roots to Ends

The obvious way to brush hair may seem to move from top to bottom: right? Wrong. Grab a wide-toothed comb and begin with the lower sections to avoid unnecessary hair loss.

 

#2: Trying to Dry Soppy Wet Hair

 

There are two ways in which you shouldn’t try to dry super wet hair: with your towel or with a hairdryer. Yes, we’re all guilty of it sometimes but it’s best to quit rubbing your towel over your tresses like you’re trying to light a fire with two twigs. It causes unnecessary friction. Try using a cotton T-shirt or something less abrasive to blot your hair dry if you must. As for hairdryers, avoid reaching for it until your hair is 50-60% dry before applying the heat tool to finish it off.

#5: Washing Too Often (and Roughly)

Very few people actually need to shampoo daily so if you find yourself lather-rinse-repeating every day then it’s time to cut it out. Shampoo is needed to remove excess sebum, oil, dirt and daily pollutants from your hair but if you are constantly stripping these things from your hair you also take away the natural oils which protect your scalp and strands. That leads directly to dry scalp and dry hair. Try skipping a couple of your normal washes and see how your hair begins to thank you.

 

 

#6: Not Getting Regular Trims

We’ve all met at least one girl in our life with long, shiny hair who says “I haven’t cut it in over three years!” And while getting regular trims may seem counterproductive to achieving long, luscious locks it’s actually the key ingredient. While it may not equate to longer hair, getting trims every 8-12 weeks helps keep the hair strong and healthy by eliminating split ends which could eventually otherwise creep up the strand and lead to breakage. So, we take care of ourselves from head-to-toe
 or so we think. While you may give TLC to your hair from root to ends, people often forget the scalp treatment. This can mean anything from using too much dry shampoo and creating excess buildup on the scalp to excessively scrubbing the scalp while shampooing. What can you do? Give your scalp a gentle rub using your fingertips (not your fingernails!) when shampooing to remove hair care products and stimulate the hair follicles. You can also look into purchasing shampoos made for your scalp and hair type in mind, from dry to oily to irritated. Shampoo doesn’t always have to be about the strands (that’s what conditioner is for!).

 

 

#10: Brushing Your Hair When Wet

Brushing your hair when it’s wet can be very damaging. Wet hair is weak hair, making it extremely vulnerable to breakage and tangles. So instead of picking up your hairbrush directly after the shower and running it through your hair, use a fine-tooth comb instead. Start from the ends and work your way up to be softer on tangles. A regular hair brush is too abrasive and can tear hair straight out or leave you with split ends. Better yet – comb your hair before you enter the shower to shampoo and condition so there is less brushing needed on the way out.

Royal Enfield unveiled two new models with a brand-new 650 cc parallel-twin engine at the 2017 EICMA show in Milan

 

1. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Royal Enfield Continental GT650

 

The biggest action in the modern classic space in 2018 will be from Royal Enfield, who will be introducing two new motorcycles sharing the same platform. Both motorcycles will be powered by an all-new 648 cc, fuel-injected, parallel-twin engine that makes 47 bhp at 7100 rpm and 52 Nm of peak torque at 4000 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a six-speed transmission and the bikes also feature standard dual-channel ABS. The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650’s design takes inspiration from the 1960s Royal Enfield Interceptor. Both bikes have the same length, wheelbase and cycle parts, but the Interceptor 650 is slightly taller and wider than the Continental GT650. While the Interceptor 650 is a retro classic streetbike with easy ergonomics, the Continental GT650 follows a cafĂ© racer design language with a sportier riding position. Both bikes are expected to be priced under â‚č 4 lakh (ex-showroom) once they are launched in India, sometime in mid-2018.

The Ducati Scrambler 1100 gets more power, more features, and more technology

Ducati India is expected to introduce a new version of the Scrambler with a bigger engine, more power and a host of electronics. The Ducati Scrambler 1100 is powered by a new 1,079 cc, L-twin motor which makes 85 bhp at 7,500 rpm and peak torque of 88 Nm at 4,750 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch as well. But it’s not just a standard Scrambler with a bigger engine. The Scrambler 1100 features a new steel trellis frame, and an aluminium double-sided swingarm. Ergonomics are slightly different than the standard Scrambler 800 with a different rider triangle between footpegs, seat and handlebar.

 

The Scrambler 1100 also gets cornering ABS, four-level traction control and ride-by-wire throttle with a choice of different riding modes (Active, Journey and City). Globally, the Scrambler 1100 will be available in a choice of three different variants – base, Special and Sport. The bike was originally slated for an India launch in 2017, and is currently undergoing homologation procedures at the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). The Leonicon is powered by the same 499 cc parallel-twin engine which will also be seen in the Benelli TRK 502. The engine makes just over 47 bhp ad 45 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a six-speed transmission.

The Leoncino gets top-notch components, including a retro-styled round headlight with LED DRL, LED turn indicators and tail lamp. The chassis is a tubular steel trellis frame and the bike gets 17-inch wheels at both ends, shod with Pirelli Angel ST tyres. The front suspension is a 50 mm upside down fork, while at the rear, there’s a monoshock with 112 mm of wheel travel. Expect prices to be in the range of â‚č 5-6 lakh (ex-showroom) and the bike to be launched sometime in mid-2018.

Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a five-speed gearbox. The Commando gets adjustable, hi-spec Ohlins suspension, with upside down forks and twin Ohlins shocks at the rear. Braking is handled by top-spec Brembo calipers. The Norton Commando is hand-built at the Donington Park factory, and it takes two full days to build one bike.
